I thought we were doing welcome back, everyone, to Beyond Artlist, the podcast where three music educators gathered together to discuss the most important issues facing music education. And we occasionally talk about music education. Mostly occasionally. That's right. After four seasons, more than 35,000 downloads, and absolutely no measurable improvement in the production quality. Yep, we're back. Yeah. Against everyone's better judgment, I would say yeah. You got it! Gentlemen, come on. Season five of Beyond Artless is officially here. And the season has a title. A bold title. A provocative title. A title our accountant and other uh advisors uh asked us not to use. Do I have to be the one that says it? Okay, fine. Here it is. The Empire Strikes a Budget. That's right. After apparently four seasons of talking about music education, we thought we tackled the one thing that every music educator understands. Trying to do more with less. That's true. Budgets. Grants. Fundraising. Purchase orders. Reimbursement forms. Professional development approvals. Grant narratives. Could you please send me an update at W9? And of course, the phrase every educator loves to hear. There's no money for that. But don't worry, we're not actually spending the entire season talking about money. We couldn't afford that. Instead, we're going to continue doing what we've always done. And that's talking to fascinating people. I'm leaving, but anyway, asking questions that occasionally have answers. And occasionally asking questions that make our guests wonder why they agreed to come on the podcast. Hey commuters, we've got another great season of surprise guests, music educators, artists, administrators, composers, performers, and people who somehow manage to become more interesting than the three of us. Again, not a challenge to do. It's totally true. I mean, speak for yourself, but okay. And of course, we'll have more. Bambuzzlers. Bandboozlers. And whatever other poorly conceived segments we could come up with at 8 o'clock on a Tuesday night. Don't want any more of those. So whether you're listening on your commute. In your classroom, don't listen anymore. While avoiding doing the things you're supposed to be doing. Which is how most of us became music teachers. We're glad you're back. Season five.
